Serie A striker claimed to be joining Barcelona in the summer

Barcelona intends to bring in a new striker in the summer transfer market, and a number of names have emerged as targets for the Catalan club.

One of the names Barca is reportedly monitoring is Juventus star, Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbia international has just a few months left on his contract with the Bianconeri, and it looks like he will leave on a free transfer.

Serbian Fitness Trainer Makes Big Claim

Now, the Serbian national team’s fitness coach and one of the striker’s confidants, Dusan Ilic, has made a big claim about where Vlahovic will go in June.

“He will go to Barcelona. That’s what I think. Before going to Juventus, he had the opportunity to play in Spain, because he had an offer from Atletico, but he chose to stay in Italy. Now everything is different,” stressed Ilic to Tutto Sportsas reported SPORT.

For Ilic, Vlahovic’s career can only recover if he changes clubs and gets a project that can make him stand out again.

“Dusan loves and respects Italy. That’s why he stayed for so long, but now he needs to get his career back on track and try to continue developing,” he added.

“Only then, he will return to being the classy player we saw at Fiorentina. He is a top player, he is always skilled on the pitch, he is that. He is a world class goalscorer,” stressed Ilic.

Currently Recovering from Injuries

Vlahovic is currently recovering from an adductor muscle injury, limiting his involvement in a very important season for him, with his future still uncertain.

“I think we will see him return to the pitch at the start of March, and return to his habits, namely scoring goals and destroying the opponent’s goal,” he continued.

“The injury occurred in a very specific area, which heals more slowly. Of course, recovery will take longer, but with doctors and specialists ready to help him, I can say that we will see him back soon,” added Ilic.

So far this season, Vlahovic has scored six goals and two assists in 17 games. Only time will tell whether he will join Barcelona next summer.
