New preseason, Barcelona has lost Eric Garcia

So far, the preseason tour of Hansi Flick’s squad did run smoothly, but the obstacle arose in the form of a small problem that involved the 24 -year -old player.

Flick prioritizes caution

Flick is known to always prioritize the health of players and not in a hurry to pressure his players during the preseason.

This approach was also applied to young midfielders, Gavi, last season, and Marc Bernal, which became part of the tour squad, but most likely would not appear much during Barca preseason in Asia.

Meanwhile, Garcia, who performed impressively in the match against Vissel Kobe – where he scored his first goal for Barca in the preseason, had returned to action with strong performance.

He was later replaced by Jules Kounde in the right back position during the match, and it underlined Flick’s willingness to experiment with options in his team’s defense.

Conversely, Hector Fort is not played at all Flick. This then strengthens the report that the club actively tries to release Fort before the new season begins.

The next Barcelona match is scheduled to be held on Thursday 31 July 2025, where they will face FC Seoul. However, it still needs to be ascertained whether Garcia will be fit enough to return to playing in this fight.
