Gilabola.com – Manchester United is racing on the time before the closing while the transfer market on Tuesday at 7 pm local time. The club has started the transfer window with a quick step, namely completing the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves in an agreement worth more than Rp 1.3 trillion.
Cunha’s transfer was announced last Sunday after the release clause was activated. His arrival to Old Trafford is still waiting for the visa process and official registration.
But only a day later, new news emerged that Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford began to show a serious interest in joining Manchester United.
United are known to have submitted an offer of Rp 1.2 trillion to Brentford for Mbeumo. However, the offer was immediately rejected. Even so, negotiations continue to run and United are expected to submit a higher new offer.
Brentford is believed to want a number similar to those paid for Cunha, which is around Rp 1.3 trillion. Although it is not as easy as bringing Cunha, which has a clear release clause, Manchester United feel confident that he can bring Mbeumo.
The player is also reportedly the target of other clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United, who actually have the advantage of the Champions League football next season.
Potential in and out of players
Although United have the need to strengthen other positions such as goalkeepers and midfielders, so far there are no other agreements that are being pursued actively.
With a deadline that is getting closer, it is likely that there is no additional entry transfer before the exchange is temporarily closed, and the next activity will wait for the official public transfer window to open.
Meanwhile, for matters of outgoing players, the selling list has been prepared. Among the names to be released there are Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, and Antony. But until now, no official offer has entered for all four.
Inter Milan has also expressed interest in Rasmus Hojlund, one of Manchester United’s attackers, but formal talks have not begun.
With the remaining time that is so short, all transfer activities both enter and exit will seem to be delayed, unless there is a sudden development in a matter of hours.
If negotiations with Brentford go as expected, Mbeumo can be the second recruitment after Cunha. However, to bring in another name this summer, United will likely rely first on income from the sales of players.
