Extraordinary old school Bangkok hotel with extraordinary Thai hospitality

Amari Bangkok Hotel Review: impressive fresh thinking fThis Bangkok ROM Hotel Entering the Fifth Decade

Walking to Amari Bangkok, you enter a spectacular atrium where there is dozens of floor space above your head. Here, in the lobby, there are five staff for each guest and check-in-after all Thailand-efficiers. This is the majesty of the old school, but not an old, old school: in the middle of the eighties. Amari Bangkok was built in 1984 and has that – dare I say – Trump’s luxury about that place (no, I don’t like it; yes, I think the Tower Trump and some NYC’s skyscrapers are extraordinarily high camps).

There are many hotels in the eightflies worldwide, although many are dull with an aggressive nature of hotel trends demanding eternal novelty. But there is a small amount of this heritage hotel that maintains high standards.

If Jason Isaacs, Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood Entanglement have inspired a visit to Thailand, or maybe the white Lotus itself, then you will rest comfortably in Amari knowing that I can imagine the Timothy Ratliff that lined up here, the family behind him. He will be happy with the room: Mine, the main room of the club, renovated in 2021, is a generous double with the right blackout curtains, good for jet lag, many workspaces in the rooms and big beds.

There are four restaurants, including new Chomsindh, where I eat. Ask the table with an open kitchen view, from where there is one of the deepest exploration of authentic local food that I found in this scale property (Amari has large business customers). I am amazed by the quantity and diversity of food, which is specialized in the gift of the Thai marine.

In the Ratchaprasong district in the center of Bangkok city where Amari is located, this area is famous for shopping centers and markets, so there are many interesting street traders to eat delicious seafood. But if somewhere with air conditioning chairs and more comfortable sounds interesting after a day of exploring, there is no corner cut here. Other restaurants reach buffet, Indian food, and French cuisine.

In the middle of the building there is a large swimming pool with an amazing view of the city. This is a great antidote to rise, Bangkok’s eight -story chaos below.
